The Un-Reel lit up at dusk in its slip at Burnt Store Marina, Punta Gorda

Fish Like a Pro Aboard the Un-Reel

The Un-Reel

The Un-Reel is a 24-foot Nautic Star 2400 Sport. It handles skinny-water flats fishing and still holds up when we're fighting tarpon in rough pass water. The shallow-draft hull and high-riding deep-V get us from the dock to the fish quickly, whether we're poling a flat or running across the harbor.

The ride is stable and dry, and the boat is set up for fishing with plenty of room to cast, fight and land fish. She's freshly repowered with a Suzuki DF250 for smooth, reliable runs.

Capt Rich Damianos

Capt Rich Damianos, USCG-licensed Master and owner of Reel Rich Fishing Charters, fishing from the bow of the Un-Reel on Charlotte Harbor

Capt Rich is a Florida Friendly certified fishing guide and fully insured USCG-licensed Master who has been chartering on Charlotte Harbor since 2015 and has more than 25 years of Florida fishing experience. He knows where the fish go with the tides, the seasons and the weather.

His goal is simple: give you the best action possible and a safe, fun day, whether that's a relaxed morning on the flats with the kids or a shot at a bucket-list tarpon. He books every trip himself, so the person you talk to is the person who takes you fishing.

Before starting charter operations in Florida, Rich was a New York State licensed fishing guide and a professional bass angler, competing in Bassmaster and FLW events all over the country. Born in Newport, RI, he has fished fresh and salt water all his life.
