How our tarpon trips work
We fish live bait in and around Boca Grande Pass and Charlotte Harbor, wherever the fish are holding that day. All you need is a good grip and a little stamina. I'll handle the rest, from rigging to boatside release.
- Season: April 1–June 30 only
- Departs: fuel dock, Safe Harbor Burnt Store Marina
- Start time: Generally 7:30 am; may be adjusted for tide or weather. I'll talk timing with you for the day you want to fish.
- Included: all tackle, 20 live crabs per trip, ice, water and fishing licenses. Extra crabs can be bought in advance or on the water.
- Catch-and-release: Tarpon are catch-and-release. Big fish stay in the water for photos, as Florida law requires, so they swim off strong.
How to book: by request. Request your tarpon date below. Prefer to talk? Call 941-621-9996 or text 607-327-0221.
Why tarpon trips are by request
Tarpon season is short and the best tides go fast. I plan each tarpon trip around tides, moon and where the fish are, so instead of instant booking I'd rather talk with you first. Send the form below and I'll get back to you, usually within a day, to lock in a date. A tarpon trip blocks my whole day, so I take one tarpon charter per day.
Same terms as all our trips: nothing is due up front, and you pay at the dock. We hold a card when you book. Cancel free up to 7 days before your trip. See our Cancellation & Weather Policy.
Tarpon Request Form
Tell me about your group and the dates you're looking at. This is a request, not a confirmed booking. I'll reach out to confirm.
Prefer to talk? Call 941-621-9996, text 607-327-0221 or email CaptRich@ReelRichFishing.com.

Submitting this form doesn't book or charge anything. Once we agree on a date, I'll send a secure link to hold your card, the same card hold we use for every trip. Nothing is due until the dock.
